Biography
Leah Spittle currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Dental Hygiene Program at
the Texas A&M College of Dentistry.
Professor Spittle received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Texas A&M Baylor
College of Dentistry, and Master of Science in Education for Health Care Professionals from
Texas A&M University College of Medicine.
She has more than 13 years of experience in clinical practice as a registered dental hygienist in
private practice dentistry.
Professor Spittle is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Texas
Dental Hygienists’ Association, Dallas Dental Hygienists’ Association, Association for Dental
Safety, Dental Hygiene Educators of Texas, and Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor
Society-Beta Chapter. She also currently serves as the President for the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental
Hygiene Honor Society-Beta Chapter.
She currently serves as course director for Health Promotion & Disease Prevention and
Microbiology. Additional clinical teaching responsibilities are in Preclinical Dental Hygiene, and
Clinical Dental Hygiene courses I-IV and as the lead clinical dental hygiene faculty on the MC
Cooper Dental Clinic rotation.
