College of Dentistry

The AEGD Residency is a one-year training program providing professional education at a post-doctoral level. The goal of the program is to expand the scope and depth of the residents’ clinical skills and didactic knowledge while also enabling them to provide comprehensive patient care to a wide-range of patient cases using the latest techniques and utilizing the most up-to-date technologies. Accordingly, the residency is structured to allow residents to exercise independent judgment beyond that expected in the pre-doctoral curriculum, thereby preparing graduates for successful entry into a comprehensive and modern practice.

College of Dentistry

The Dental Public Health Residency program at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX is an innovative full time 12-month program for students who possess both a Dental and MPH degree, designed to prepare dentists for dental public health practice, as well as the development, implementation and evaluation of effective community programs. Dental Public Health is the science and art of oral health promotion and disease prevention to improve the total health of communities.

Our 27-month graduate program, is fully accredited by the ADA, leading to a Certificate in Endodontics. The program is designed to be a comprehensive, didactic, clinical and research venture into all aspects of endodontics. This program provides the student with all that are necessary to be a clinically proficient endodontist, an astute diagnostician, a critical thinker, and a sound “endodontist-scientist”. In addition, the program prepares the student for the American Board of Endodontics certification examination.

College of Dentistry

Our Certificate (Residency) training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology is offered only in combination with the Master’s Degree in Oral Biology. The Residency program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association. The certificate will allow the individual to take the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology examination in order to become Board Certified. Board certification is all that is needed to practice Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology in a surgical pathology practice setting in the US.

College of Dentistry

The college offers a postgraduate (certificate) training in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (OMR). The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association and has been granted the initial accreditation. Eligibility for admission includes US and Canadian graduates from institutions accredited by their respective Commissions on Dental Accreditation or foreign graduates who are deemed to possess an equivalent educational background as determined by the institution and program. GRE is not required for this certificate program.

College of Dentistry

The postgraduate residency division conducts one of the most highly-prized and sought after Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Programs in the country, attracting the brightest, most talented applicants each year. Residents participate in treatment planning and direct consultation with other dental and foundational knowledge (basic science) specialists within the dental school while working with the medical staff of Level I trauma center, Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC). While on-call, residents assume responsibilities for the management of maxillofacial emergencies on a 24 hours/day basis through the BUMC Emergency Department.

The Orthodontic Department is one of six clinical departments in the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry. The Department of Orthodontics' objective is to provide the resident with a well-balanced educational experience, integrating a strong foundation in the basic sciences with a varied clinical experience and graduate as a specialist with the highly refined analytical, clinical and management skills necessary to provide optimum oral health care.

College of Dentistry

The Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Texas A&M College of Dentistry provides didactic and clinical instruction on preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children. This instruction is provided for dental hygiene students, dental students and residents in the pediatric dentistry specialty program. Full and part time faculty are involved in the didactic training of the dental hygiene students and dental students in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years.

College of Dentistry

A certificate in Periodontics is awarded upon successful completion of the 3 year curriculum in the Advanced Training Program in Periodontics. Assigned faculty teach didactic and clinical courses on all aspects of periodontics, including etiology, pathogenesis, systemic interactions/considerations, diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical/non-surgical therapy, maintenance care, dental implantology, interdisciplinary considerations, and oral medicine/stomatology.

Faculty of experienced prosthodontists will assist residents developing into competent professionals and residents employ cutting-edge technologies and materials for diagnosis, planning, and treatment.
