Biography
Lisa Mallonee currently serves as the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and a Professor with
tenure in the Dental Hygiene Program at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry.
Professor Mallonee received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, and a Master of Public
Health with a coordinated degree in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill. Ms. Mallonee is also a Registered and Licensed Dietitian.
She presents continuing education courses to a variety of professional groups both nationally and
internationally. She is also a published author in dental textbooks and peer reviewed journals on
multiple topics pertaining to dentistry, nutrition, and the interrelation to oral health. She is a
member of the author team that is continuing the legacy of Dr. Esther Wilkins’ textbook Wilkins’
Clinical Practice of the Dental Hygienist commonly referenced in the profession as “the bible of
dental hygiene”.
Professor Mallonee is an active member of the International Federation of Dental Hygienists’,
American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association, Dallas Dental
Hygienists’ Association, American Academy of Dental Hygiene, Association for Dental Safety,
Dental Hygiene Educators of Texas, American Dental Education Association, American Dental
Education Association Section on Biochemistry and Nutrition, Academy of Nutrition and
Dietetics, Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Dallas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics,
Dietetic Practice Group for Nutrition Educators of Health Professionals, Dietetic Group for
Dietitians in Complementary Care, Dietetic Practice Group for Sports, Cardiovascular and
Wellness Nutritionists, and Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society-Beta Chapter.
She currently provides lecture content on nutrition in both the undergraduate dental hygiene and
the predoctoral dental curriculum at the college. Additionally, she serves as a preceptor for the
Baylor University Medical Center Dietetic internship program.
